I used category-3 to describe those people- who would want to reward a "retired" bereaucrat if he/she is not going to join the party!
Eve teasing: I have seen many instances all by myself. If you want to experience, just go near a girl's school/college. I just jotted down my own experiences.
Assi Kavi Sammelan: I disagree with you but respect your opinion. I didn't get what you meant by P3P but hope you are not comparing apples to oranges. Just tell me, can you go watch that Kavi Sammelan with your family? Or in the worst case, rent a house in that area and your kids get to listen to the Sammelan every year?
I don't like anybody who uses India's bad side to win awards- be it Satyajit Ray or be it Deepa Mehta. Showing snake charmers, naked poor woman, malnutritioned child-they have used all these means to get popular. Can we count any contrinution they made to Indian society?
I tried to highlight the problems in Banaras but at the same time, I tried to clarify that all of this, I am not speaking for Deepa Mehta. Rest of the things, you can see in my blog.
Thanks for spending time, reading it and commenting on it. I am really looking forward for your "to be continued.." part.
Comment from a friend over e-mail posted by the author:
I see little here about Modi's achievements and more about Congress' follies. That Congress is inept and reliant on star power is well known; what is less known, to me at least, are Modi's accomplishments. I would have loved to read a bit more about his deeds (good and bad). No matter what, we cannot overlook the violence that happened under his watch. And economic development is not always a sure ticket to victory as the BJP learned with their "India Shining" campaign. I am yet to find a politician (at least in my generation) who cares about people's welfare more than their own and that of their cronies. I don't think Modi is any different. He may be the better choice among the other evils and, as you, I would trust the residents of Gujarat to decide that. No Sonia or Manmohan should be able to come tell the ordinary Gujarati people who to elect.
Very nice. I do beleive in GOD and these photos make the belief stronger. Great job collecting these!
Keep on writing my friend and conveying your message. I am sure, it is going to change sometime and writing is a tool which will finally going to pay. Sorry to hear about this little poor girl but it is a small part of a bigger picture where many people die without proper treatment or maltreatment. Don't lose faith in the system. Let us all try to change it thru the mightier tool-Pen!
Bindra winning GOLD for India? Should we really feel so great about it?
Well said but the same point-For aam aadmi, it is still a dream which has yet to be even watched leave apart the dream coming true.
